Farmville will soon have one less retailer. Sears Hometown Store, locally owned and operated on South Main Street, is advertising a “Store Closing” sale in Wednesday’s print edition of The Farmville Herald.
Local store owner/operator Frank Medlin declined to comment. The Herald has also attempted to reach Sears corporate offices for comment, but no statement has been issued.
The newspaper advertisement features 30-50 percent off of home appliances, 30 percent off on lawn and garden, 30-40 percent off on tools, 60 percent off on mattresses, and 30 percent off on sporting goods and vacuums for Aug. 6-12.
