Trents Mill: Revivals and benefits on tap, including spaghetti dinner

Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Paul Myers of Dillwyn (Aug. 1); Elizabeth Stone of Dillwyn and David Miles of Glen Allen (Aug. 2); Gary Albrecht of Arvonia (Aug. 4); and Violet Flippen of New Canton(Aug. 6).
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the sick and shut-in.
Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland, Susie Taylor of Dillwyn, and Patricia Woodfin of New Canton enjoyed an evening meal at a Farmville restaurant July 23.
Spreading God’s Gifts, Inc., a non-profit ministry that assists working individuals or families in need and helps with scholarships primarily serving Buckingham and surrounding counties, will hold a spaghetti dinner concert Saturday, Aug. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 14405 W. James Anderson Hwy., Buckingham. Dinner will include homemade spaghetti, bread, salad, dessert and a beverage for a donation (eat in or take out).
Second Time Around featuring Bob Estes and Tommy Moore of Buckingham will be in concert at the VFW Hall on Aug. 8 following the dinner. This event is co-sponsored by Puckett and Shorter funeral homes of Farmville. For more information call (434) 983-2269.
Cedar Baptist Church, 3932 Bell Road, Dillwyn, will hold homecoming and revival Aug. 2 -7.
Sunday school will be at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday with Pastor Tommy Armstrong preaching. Lunch will follow in the fellowship hall. At 1 p.m. Smokey Wilson, of Concord will be in concert.
Monday through Friday revival services will begin at 7 p.m. with special music each night: Monday – Second Time Around featuring Bob Estes and Tommy Moore of Buckingham; Tuesday – The Ownby Sisters of Hatcher Baptist in Cumberland; Wednesday – Lauren Black; Thursday – Richard Carner of Cedar Baptist; and Friday – Barry Snoddy of Buckingham. Guest speaker for the week will be the Rev. Jerry Gray from Iva, S.C. Pastor Tommy Armstrong invites all to attend.
Spreading God’s Gifts Inc. of Buckingham will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of Buckingham County Public Library.
