Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Helen Connell, of Dillwyn, celebrating July 18, Frankie Jones, of Wingina, celebrating July 19 and Marie Adams, of Farmville, celebrating July 21.

Elizabeth Stone, of Dillwyn, spent a few days last week with her daughter, Linda Seay, in Richmond.  They also attended Elizabeth’s cousin’s funeral.

Please remember in prayer our dear friends in Christ Temple Taylor of Dillwyn and Clarence Walters of Powhatan who are experiencing health problems.

Fitzgerald Baptist Church, partnering with Central Virginia Food Bank FeedMore program, will be distributing food to Cumberland County residents July 20 from 1-2 p.m. at Southworth Power Equipment, located 1273 Anderson Highway. Recipients must have registered in December or must see director Jerry Seal the day of distribution to qualify. Reminder: All food recipients are asked to bring bags.

 Maranatha Baptist Church, located at 2204 Tuggle Road in Farmville, will be hosting Southern Gospel Music Concert and a supper  July 26. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with Southern Gospel Music from Smokey Wilson of Concord. A love offering will be received. Maranatha will also be hosting vacation Bible school starting  July 27-30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each evening for ages 4-12.

This year’s theme is “Hometown Nazareth” when Jesus was a child. All are invited to come and have some fun while learning about God’s Word.

Teresa’s Place, located at 15055 North James Madison Highway in Dillwyn, is presenting their second summer cruise-in featuring a Chevy/GM Spotlight July 18 from 5-8:30 p.m. All makes and models are welcome. There will be no fee.

Buckingham Baptist Church, located at 24234 North James Madison Highway in New Canton, will annual homecoming services July 19.  The guest speakers will be Roger and Meg Hesch; they are Personnel Consultants for Region 5 of the Southern Baptist Convention’s International Mission Board.

A song service starts at 10:30 a.m. featuring the Oak Hill Quartet from Cumberland with the worship service starting at 11 a.m.  Afellowship meal will follow the service. All are invited to come on out and join in for a great time of worship and fellowship. For further information, contact the church office at 434-581-3820.
