Thomas “Tommy” Leslie Wells, 56

JULY 23 — Thomas “Tommy” Leslie Wells, 56, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was born in Alexandria on August 9, 1958 to Kenneth “Maynard” and Shirley Wells.

Mr. Wells graduated from Fort Hunt High School and after playing football at Potomac State University he moved to Tampa, Florida where he raised his family. In later years he returned to his family’s farm in Farmville and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, being outdoors, and watching the Redskins play ball.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jane Wells; his children, Ashley and Christopher Wells; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister, Peggy Ann Wells.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, at 1 p.m. at the Farmville United Methodist Church, Farmville.
