SEC Holds Golf Classic

CREWE — Established to provide local students with educational opportunities beyond high school, Southside Electric Cooperative‘s (SEC) inaugural Scholarship Fund Golf Classic was held at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville on July 10.
Thirteen teams and 29 sponsors helped to make the event a success; with The Logo Store USA team placing first, Benchmark Community Bank placing second and Booth & Associates placing third.
The proceeds raised from the event, over $12,000, will help build SEC’s newly established Educational Scholarship Fund. Next spring, scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be available to local high school seniors.
With the success of this year’s tournament, SEC’s Scholarship Fund Golf Classic will become an annual event, with details on the 2016 tournament to come later in the year.
