Meeting
The monthly meeting and potluck dinner of the Curdsville Community Center will be held on July 6 at 6:30 p.m. Fried chicken will be provided, but guests are asked to bring their favorite side dish or dessert. The community center is located on School Road in southern Buckingham off U.S. Route 15.
Centenary VBS
Get your camping gear ready! Camp Courageous needs you at Centenary United Methodist Church to get equipped for life at vacation bible school July 12-16. Camp will kick off on Sunday, July 12, at 5 p.m. There will be classes for everyone from age three to adult. The church is located on Route 20 at 12247 South Constitution Route. The Buckingham County Department of Parks and Recreation is offering numerous summer programs for children of all ages, such as basketball camp, football signups, karate, soccer, tennis, swimming and much more. Mt. Olive Service Changes
The Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Dillwyn will add an additional Sunday worship service and a new service start time beginning Sunday. Church service will be held on the first, second and third Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. The church’s 150th anniversary celebration will continue with a family and friends picnic on Saturday, July 25, from noon to 4 p.m. at Ellis Acres Memorial Park. The church is located at 16091 North James Madison Highway.
Buckingham Baptist VBS
Vacation Bible School at Buckingham Baptist Church on Route 15 at Gold Hill will be held July 6-10 from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. for children ages 3-11 with a “Journey Off The Map.” While exploring uncharted territory, kids will discover that Jesus is the ultimate guide. There will be classes each night for Bible study, music, crafts, missions and recreation. Pre-registration will be held on July 5 at 5 p.m.
