Braxton Brothers Earn Medals At World Police And Fire Games

Brothers Jarvis (left) and Derek Braxton (right), former Bradwell Institute track and field competitors, recently earned several medals at the 2015 World Police and Fire Games in Washington, D.C. The event had over 50,000 competitors from over 60 countries and was held at George Mason Stadium. Both brothers were on the USA Blaze Relay team that won third place in the competition. Derek also placed second in the triple jump and third in the 100-meter dash. Jarvis took fifth in the 400-meter dash and sixth in long jump. The brothers are the nephews of Farmville natives Angel Christian, Maida Davis, Steven Wood, Clifton Wood and Darlene Wood.
