June 18 —“Love is a hammer that will break the hardest heart.”
The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary meatloaf supper will be June 20 from 5-7 p.m.; the cost is a donation at the door. The meal will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread, drinks, and desserts.
Peggy Kelsey sends congratulations to Megan Clark from the Tuggle community for winning the primary for Prince Edward County Commonwealth’s Attorney. Having been the assistant commonwealth’s attorney in Henrico County, I believe she will make a great commonwealth’s attorney for Prince Edward County.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Fulcher, along with Mrs. Shirley Fulcher, attended the fifth grade graduation for Kyerra Toney at Prince Edward County School.
Mrs. Betty Noblin had a delightful time at the Arrington Family Reunion on Sunday, June 14, at the Pamplin Fire House.
Last Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Norma Hertzler visited Mrs. Pat Smith.
Mrs. Brenda Walton, of Powhatan, was a luncheon guest in the home of Mrs. Pat Smith last Friday.
Mrs. Dianna Smith and daughter Christina spent Saturday morning with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Pat Smith.
Mrs. Shirley Fulcher and Mrs. Flora Bolt enjoyed the 80th birthday celebration for Kirby Mottley held at the historic Farmville Train Station on Saturday. This was his real birthday.
Mrs. Flora Bolt, along with Steve and Terri Bolt, Haley and Payden Murdock, Judy Bolt and Chris Bolt, met for lunch at Applebee’s on Sunday.
On Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith attended Jeanne William’s surprise birthday party held at the Pamplin Train Depot.
On Monday, Mr. and Mrs. John Utzlinger hosted the monthly small group from Faith Bible Fellowship. Attending were Mrs. Hilde Watson, Mrs. Barbara Fehr, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Al Quinlan and Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock.
On Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Richmond for an appointment, went shopping and enjoyed lunch.
A very speedy recovery is wished for all those who are sick at this time or just need our prayers: Betty Meadows, Steve Martin, Betty Jean Bolt, Elfrieda Kerns, and Mildred Shanks.
