June 11 — “Happy people are those who are producing something.”
I hope each of you got out to cast your vote on Tuesday.
The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary meatloaf supper will be June 20, from 5-7 p.m., cost a donation at the door. The meal will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread, drinks, and desserts.
The Tuggle Neighborhood Watch held their June 6 meeting with a picnic on the beautiful and spacious lawn at the home of Frank and Mary Lacey on Dry Bridge Road.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lapp were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith on Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith and granddaughter, Christina Smith, traveled to Stafford to visit Jeff’s mother, Mrs. Dolores Smith on Monday. They assisted with several chores before enjoying lunch together. The Smiths then drove to Unionville to visit Pat’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keaveny.
Mrs. Flora Bolt and Mrs. Frances Ollie enjoyed getting together for lunch at Merk’s Place on Thursday, June 4; they were catching up on family news.
On Sunday June 7, Mrs. Flora Bolt, Steve Bolt and granddaughters, Haley and Paydon Murdock, Jennifer Page Bolt were luncheon guests of Mrs. Judy Bolt and son Chris.
On Monday, June 1, Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mrs. Jeanette Johnstone, Margaret Johnstone, John Johnstone and a friend of John’s attended the Curdsville Community Center dinner.
Mrs. Flora Bolt visited Mrs. Ruth Simpson at her home on June 2 and Mrs. Ruth Southall at Holly Manor. Mrs. Bolt also visited Lucille and Page at Brookview Lodge. It was good to see the ladies.
On Friday, June 5, Mrs. Flora Bolt met Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stiegle at the Huddle House for dinner. They were doing well after some sickness.
The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be with them on Sunday.
The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Worley will be with them on Sunday.
Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
