Buckingham Baptist Church, located at 24234 North James Madison Highway in Arvonia, will host a benefit spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the youth department on Sunday, June 28, right after the morning worship service. Lunch will include homemade spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert, tea and lemonade. A suggested donation for an adult plate is $8 and $4 for a plate for children ages 11 and under.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, and Jane Cooke, of Brookneal, enjoyed lunch at a Lynchburg restaurant on Wednesday, June 17.

Sympathy is extended to the Absher family of Dillwyn.  Earl Lee Absher, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 16.  A funeral service was held on June 20.  He will be greatly missed by all.

A large crowd attended a cookout at the home of T.J. (Tommy Jo) and Stephanie Waycaster and family on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21.  Everyone enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.

On Friday, June 19, James and Virginia Boyles, Barry and Linda Miles, all from Cumberland, along with Annie May Miles and Mericia Boyles, both of Dillwyn, enjoyed an evening of great fellowship at a Dillwyn restaurant.
