CUMBERLAND, June 19 — Sean Wenzel, 50, of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado where he fell in love with the mountains. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, camping and playing golf. A huge Denver Broncos fan he was lucky to have cheered them on many times at Mile High Stadium.
Mr. Wenzel moved to Farmville where he became a part of the Charley’s Waterfront Cafe family. There he met countless friends who will miss him greatly. He never met a stranger. He had a contagious smile and a mischievous sense of humor that will live on in his son James, who he adored more than anything in the world.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; son, James; mother, Rosalinda Lujan; brothers, Aaron, Kris, Bryan, Gary, and Josh; sister, Keather Leslie and her husband, Luke; nephews, Mike and Berghan Wenzel, Christopher Craig, Garrett and Connor Jensen; niece, Hannah Leslie, along with numerous other family members who loved and will miss him dearly.
A celebration of his life will be held at Charley’s Waterfront Café, 201B Mill Street, Farmville, on Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m.
