Kudos to you for running the guest column by Joseph Jeeva Abbate titled “Say No To Pipeline And ‘Improper’ Eminent Domain” (Wednesday, June 17). While I live thousands of miles from Farmville and don’t read your publication regularly, I have a great interest in this topic and found the article to be highly informative.

The pipeline poses a threat not just to the local community but to the world, in how it threatens a major cultural resource, the Light Of Truth Universal Shrine (LOTUS), a great treasure dedicated to world peace and spiritual tolerance, built in Buckingham County. I created the website http://LOTUS.org and encourage all to take the virtual tour on this site and familiarize yourself with the architectural and theological significance of the local landmark. It would be an unfathomable loss to have Dominion Power damage the lands so close to this special place.
