According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, 13 out of the top 20 fastest growing occupations from now through 2022 involve the health care industry.

The purpose of the presentations was to show the students about career opportunities available locally over the next 10 years.  Centra’s  presenters also highlighted careers in the health sciences that are often overlooked such as respiratory therapists and MRI technicians.

Sixty percent of health careers are in the diagnostic, technical, therapeutic care and support services that are critical to the other health professionals.

Dr. Bryant stated, “ We want to educate our students so they can structure their high school courses to prepare for the transition to higher education and the workforce.”
