(RICHMOND) – The “Help Wanted” sign is out in Virginia State Parks for everyone from high school age to senior citizens.
Seasonal positions – from lifeguards and snack bar workers to contact rangers and cabin cleaning staff – are available in all 36 state parks, which are managed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.
“Seasonal employees are the backbone of our operations,” said State Parks Director Craig Seaver. “A park job is a great experience in a great environment.”
Virginia State Parks will host more than 4 million visitors between Memorial Day and Labor Day and fill approximately 1,000 seasonal positions to support them.
Many seasonal park employees spend significant time working outdoors. Employees receive customer service training in addition to job-specific training.
