Prince Edward 4-H is now accepting registration for Junior 4-H Camp at Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center. This is an overnight camp for youth ages nine-13. Campers from Prince Edward and Buckingham Counties will attend from June 22-26.
4-H Camp is a fun and exciting way for youth to spend a week away from home learning new skills, making new friends, and catching up with old buddies. 4-H Camp also fosters a sense of independence and promotes important life skills. While at camp, youth attend four classes of their choosing. Examples include archery, canoeing, outdoor cooking, crafts, fishing, nature, riflery, and swimming. Campers stay in cabins of approximately eight to 14 and are able to request a roommate.
The cost for youth from Prince Edward County to attend Junior 4-H Camp is $199 if registration is received before May 1. After this date, the cost is $225. This fee covers meals, lodging, transportation, a camp t-shirt, and all class supplies and materials. There is a fee reduction for multiple campers from the same household. Limited need-based scholarships are avalialbe. Campers may register with a $60 deposit. Registration is open until all spaces in camp are filled. After spaces are filled, a waiting list will be started. In recent years, camp has filled quickly.
