Charles Edward Waycaster, 89

DILLWYN, February 24 — Charles Edward Waycaster, 89, of Dillwyn, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was born November 13, 1925, in Sevierville, TN, the son of the late John Wesley and Rose Dunn Waycaster.
Mr. Waycaster was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran of World War II, having served as a machine gun crewman during the Battle of Iwo Jima.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bobbie Jean Hopkins Waycaster; a daughter, Linda “Jill” W. Falls and her husband, Bruce C. Falls; two sons, Larry Edward Waycaster and Luther Vance Waycaster, all of Dillwyn; a granddaughter, Melissa W. Proffitt and her husband, Adam of Scottsville and two close personal friends, Nancy Coates and Lola Snoddy.
A funeral service was held Monday, February 23 at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Browns Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
