MLK Luncheon Set For Moton Museum On Jan. 17

Taikein Cooper will be the keynote speaker at the annual Martin L. King Luncheon celebration sponsored by The Southside Virginia Chapter of Virginia State University Alumni Association. The event will be held on January 17 at 11 a.m. at the Motion Museum.
The celebration is held annually to commemorate the legacy of Dr. King and to keep his dream alive. Taikein graduated from Prince Edward High School and the University of North Carolina. He is the owner of Behavioral Health Agency located in Farmville.
The chapter is comprised of local individuals who attended Virginia State University. The purpose of the organization is to support the university and encourage local students to attend. Persons wishing to join may contact Dr. Odessa Pride at 434-223-1255.
Due to construction at the Motion Museum, parking will be allowed on Griffin Boulevard and Barrow Street.
