After listening to the lyrics of “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire,” (and so I'm offering this special phrase to kids from 1 to 92) Beth Allen took this photo of Hugh and Jesse Allen, both 92 of Farmville, and great-granddaughter Lyla Allen, age one of Dinwiddie (daughter of Jake and Kendra Allen). Lyla, dressed in her train engineer outfit, had made a visit earlier that day to the wonderful train display at Bevell's Hardware Store in Blackstone, hopefully the start of an annual holiday tradition.
