The Longwood String Ensemble will give its inaugural concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Wygal Auditorium on the Longwood campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
On the program are works by Bach, Beethoven, Bizet and Vivaldi. Two duets—a guitar and violin, and a violin and cello—will also perform.
The Longwood String Ensemble was formed this fall and includes student members as well as musicians from the community. Jeannette Jang, a violinist with the Richmond Symphony, coaches the group.
String players interested in joining the ensemble should contact the Longwood Department of Music at 434-395-2504 or clarkbb@longwood.edu.
