CUMBERLAND, September 25 — Jo E. Carey, 73, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at her home. She was born in Pocahontas, AR on March 6, 1941 to the late Edward and Dixie Camp Huddleston. She was married to the love of her life, James P. Carey for 55 years and was a member of Salem Methodist Church.
Mrs. Carey retired from International Paper. She loved to cook for her family and had a green thumb.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Layne Carey of Chesapeake; a daughter, Ava C. Burns of Cumberland; a brother, Bill Teal (Marie) of Arkansas; two grandchildren, Mindy Anderson (Tim) and Hunter P. Burns; and two great-grandchildren, Silas and Evelyn Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ava Pickett.
All services will be private.
