Twin Lakes Notes Weekend Events

Twin Lakes State Park announces he following weekend events:

Friday, August 8, Interpretive Circle, 11 a.m., “Test Your Green Thumb” – learn gardening skills and put together some take home plants; 2 p.m., “Beaver Hike” – learn about the local beaver population and take a guided hike around Goodwin Lake Trail; 4 p.m., “Questionable Edibles” – learn which wild plants are edible and which ones to avoid; 7:30 p.m., “Campfire Cooking” meet at the fire circle behind Shelter 1 to make Dutch Oven treats;

Saturday, August 9, Nature Nook, 10 a.m., “Junior Rangers” – a fun filled day of fishing, archery, canoeing, educational talks, and crafts, be awarded with a Certificate of Completion and a Junior Ranger patch, $10 per child, pre-register by calling the Park Office, provide a bottle of water and a lunch, closed toed shoes are required;

Sunday, August 10, Goodwin Lake Boat Ramp for canoeing, all other programs meet in the Nature Nook, 11 a.m., “Guided Canoe Paddle” – join an interpreter for a guided paddle around Goodwin Lake, to look for local aquatic life, $5 per person for $4 per person for groups of 4+, closed toed shoes required; 2 p.m., “Cone Critters” – Make pine cone pet to take home; 4 p.m., “Can You Dig It” try your hand at archeology.
