Well Done, Too, Thomasine L. Stroble

Driving to work last Thursday morning, I had something pop into my head that should have found space between my ears earlier in the week. In running the short July 16 editorial thanking Pam Butler for her willingness to serve as an interim At-Large town council member until the August 19 special election, I gave Butler deserved praise. But I failed to include the name of Thomasine L. Stroble, who had also informed the Town of Farmville of her willingness to provide the very same service. I do so now.
Town Council was determined not to appoint someone who intends to run in the special election in order to avoid giving any candidate an electoral advantage. That is the considerable gift Butler and Stroble were both willing to give the community—an even election chance for every candidate.
Butler and Stroble set an example of self-less service worth following.
And remembering.
