Joseph Henry and Gertrude Arlie Peaks celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 27. They were married at Beulah Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. in 1964. “Joe and Gertie” continued to reside and work in the District of Columbia until 1981 when they decided to return to their hometown of Buckingham County where they now enjoy their golden retirement.
