May 1 — Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to: Tempy Davenport, of Dillwyn, celebrating on May 2; Carol Luke, of Cumberland, celebrating on Monday, May 5; Patsy Gilliland, of Nathalie, celebrating on Tuesday, May 6; and Claire Landis, of Farmville, celebrating on Wednesday, May 7.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, Annie May Miles and Susie Taylor, both of Dillwyn, and Patricia Woodfin, of New Canton, all enjoyed an evening of great food and fellowship at a Dillwyn restaurant on Friday, April 25.

Maple Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, located on Meadow Creek Road in Winginia, will host revival and homecoming. Revival services will be held May 15-17 7 p.m. nightly. Homecoming services will be held on Sunday, May 18 at 10:45 a.m. followed by lunch after the morning worship service. There will be special music in all services. The guest speaker will be Earl Ragland. All are cordially invited to attend. Elizabeth Stone, of Dillwyn, visited her daughter Linda Say in Richmond a few days last week. A large crowd attended an 80th birthday party celebration in honor of Ray Martin of Dillwyn at Jones Chapel Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon. Everyone had a wonderful time with great food and fellowship.

Note: The annual “Heart of Virginia Festival” will be held on Saturday, May 3 in Farmville.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association will hold an Annual Cookout at their regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 5 at 5 p.m. at Cedar Baptist Church. All members are asked to attend. The May Program will feature special guest speaker Henry Fulcher of Farmville.
