APRIL 15 — Frances Lee Worley, (aka Fannie Lee Whirley), 82, formerly of Keysville, passed away at The Woodland in Farmville on Friday, April 11, 2014.

She was born on July 24, 1931 and grew up in Keysville, the daughter of Jake A. and Martha F. Whirley. She spent 43 years in U.S. Government service, having lived in Atlanta, GA for 33 years, before moving to The Woodland in Farmville in 2012 because of declining health.

Miss Worley devoted her entire life to serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of The Family Life Church of Sewannee, GA, which she attended until health problems prevented her from doing so. Special thanks are extended to her faithful pastor, Derek Watson.

She is survived by four sisters, Patricia Wright (Shelton) of Farmville, Louise Cawthorne (Marion) of Victoria, Mary Jane Johnson (Worth) of Farmville and Elizabeth Bryan (Kenneth) of Baltimore, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Marvin A. Whirley of Blackstone and John H. Whirley of Newport News.

A funeral service was held Sunday, April 13 in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone.
