December 26 — Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Dorothy Osborne, of Saxe, and Steve Bickford, of New Canton, celebrating on Friday, December 27, Margaret (Tweety Bird) Yates, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Sunday, December 29, and Barbara Wyland, of Scottsville, celebrating on Monday, December 30.
Welcome home to John Davis of New Canton after being in the hospital recently.
A large crowd attended the annual Christmas Party at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Dillwyn on Thursday afternoon, December 19. Everyone enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.
The Annual Christmas Lunch was held on Sunday afternoon on December 22 at the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland. A large crowd attended and enjoyed a great feast with all the trimmings.

The Appomattox County High School Athletic Booster Club presents the Appomattox Bluegrass Concert Series for 2014. The first concert of the series will be Dailey and Vincent at the Appomattox County High School Auditorium on Sunday, January 12 at 2 p.m. Advance tickets for adults are $15; at the door tickets will be $20. The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association will hold their Annual Budget and Planning Calendar Year meeting on Friday, January 3 noon at Teresa’s Place in Spouses Corner. All board members are asked to attend.
Union Branch Baptist Church, located in Arvonia, would like to remind the public that because of Christmas week and the fourth Saturday falling on December 28, their food distribution will be postponed until Saturday, January 11.
