The second annual Holiday Donation Drive presented by Hair By Mary and Company to benefit the Southside SPCA will be Dec. 8 (1 to 4:30 p.m.) at 306 N. Main Street, Farmville.

Raffle items included: tickets to Longwood basketball, tickets to the Lynchburg Hill cats, tickets to the Richmond Flying Squirrels, dinner and a movie (two tickets to Sunchase Cinema 8 and $20 gift cards to Pino’s of Farmville, autographed t-shirts and visors from BASS pro fisherman John Crews, prizes from Three Oaks Pet Resort, Shampoochies, and Salty Paws Biscuits, a signed print from Sarah England Designs, a free one night stay at Hampton Inn of Farmville. A bake sale will also be held.

Special guests this year include The Grinch, Santa Claus, Elwood Lancer, Zip the Boxer (a therapy dog from Caring Canines) and of course some of the wonderful dogs from the Southside SPCA. Prettiest Things Photography will be on hand to take a digital photo of pets with Santa and/or the Grinch in exchange for a donation. A 50/50 cash raffle will also be held.

Donated items for the SPCA will also be collected. Suggestions include grain free dog food, canned pedigree puppy food, canned cat food, toys and treats for the dogs and cats, dog beds, cat beds, blankets, towels, small cat carriers, cat litter (Wal-Mart brand red and blue bag clay litter in greatly preferred), high efficiency laundry detergent and bleach.

Parking is amiable at the hair salon parking lot, free municipal parking and on Main Street with only a very short walk to the salon.
