The first Thursdays of September, October and November, The “Lunch and Learn” committee of the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners will be hosting a series of video programs designed to assist local gardeners with fall gardening problems.

The programs will be held in the conference room of the Prince Edward Agriculture and Natural Resources building on Dominion Drive in Farmville. The videos will begin at 1 p.m. and run about an hour with time for discussion afterward. Attendees are urged to bring a lunch to enjoy while watching the video. Master Gardeners will be present to facilitate the discussion period.

September’s topic will be “Bring a Meadow to Your Backyard” focussing on the beauty and benefits of meadows. Many people worry about the best time to work on their lawn. Fall is the time and October’s topic will be “The ABCs of Lawns.” “Square Foot Gardening” is Novembers topic. This is an innovative idea about a highly productive way of gardening that fits into small spaces
