Jessica Shea Spencer and Douglas Rowe Gillispie were married, June 24 on Hilton Head Island, SC. The ceremony was attended by family and friends and was held at Palmetto Dunes Resort with the Reverend Carl Schroeder officiating the beachfront wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Darryl and Cindy Spencer, of Ferrum. Jessica is a graduate of Ferrum College and Jefferson College of Health Sciences. She is employed as a physician assistant with the Center for Emotional Care in Salem.

The groom is the son of Carroll and Debra Gillispie, of Farmville. Douglas is a graduate of Ferrum College and is employed full-time as a firefighter/medic with Botetourt County Emergency Services and part-time with Franklin County Public Safety.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Lacey Guilliams, her cousin, as maid of honor, and Kayla Watson, the groom's niece, as flower girl. The best man was Carroll Gillispie, father of the groom, and Nicholas Guilliams, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Center Court Conference Center.

The couple resides in Rocky Mount.
