PE Angels/Ponytails Begin All-Stars Play Friday

It's that time of year again.

Prince Edward Farmville Youth Association's Angels and Ponytails teams will begin play in the District I Dixie Softball Tournament this weekend.

Both tournaments will be held in Clarksville, and will run through June 26.

Prince Edward Farmville's Angels team will start off tournament play on Friday at 2 p.m. against Lunenburg.

The winner will advance to face Dinwiddie, which drew a bye on Friday, on Saturday at 2 p.m. The loser will face the Clarksville/Brunswick (8:30 p.m. Friday) loser at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Other Friday games include Crewe-Burkeville/South Hill at 4 p.m., and Blackstone/Emporia at 6:30 p.m.

The PEFYA Ponytails will also kick off the first day of play with a 2 p.m. game against Brunswick.

The winner of that game will receive a bye into Sunday. The loser will play on Saturday at 4 p.m. against the loser of the Dinwiddie/Emporia game.

South Hill/Blackstone will play at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and Clarksville will host Brunswick at 8:30 p.m.

Lunenburg drew the first day bye in the nine-team bracket, and will face the Dinwiddie/Emporia winner on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The winner of Saturday's 2 p.m. game will face the PE/Brunswick winner on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The PEFYA Darlings will begin play in its District I Tournament on Friday, June 28 in Clarksville at 8 p.m. against Brunswick.

Full first-day pairings for the District I Darlings Tournament will run next week.
