May 30 – Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Frances Asal, of Farmville, celebrating on Friday, May 31, Mildred Ragland, of Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Dillwyn, celebrating on Sunday, June 2, Cathy Trammel, of Farmville, celebrating on Monday, June 3, and Chuck Fairchild, of New Canton, celebrating on Tuesday, June 4.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut-in.

Welcome home to our dear friend in Christ, Temple Taylor, of Dillwyn, who spent sometime at UVA Hospital in Char-lottesville. She is said to be doing ok.

Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland recently visited in the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will host their regular monthly meet-ing on Tuesday, June 3 at 5 p.m. at Cedar Baptist Church, located off of U.S. 15 North of Dillwyn on state Route 650 (Bell Rd.). All members are asked to attend and bring a covered dish for the evening meal. Following the meal will be guest speaker Henry Fulcher of Farmville.

Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, located on State Route 672, will host their regular first Sunday Gospel Sing on Sun-day, June 2 at 1 p.m. Featured will be Ashley Repass of Harrisonburg. A love offering will be received. Pastor Elsie Butler and all the congregation would like to cordially invite everyone to attend. A fundraiser has been scheduled to help Debbie Allen, of Cumberland with medical expenses. She has no insurance and bills are adding up. On Friday evening June 7 from 7 p.m. at the Cumberland County Volunteer Fire Department on Route 13 in Cumberland there will be a benefit spaghetti supper dine-in or take-out. The menu will include homemade spaghetti, bread, sal-ad, drink and dessert for a donation. Other activities include bake sale auction and other items, vendors, door prizes and music featuring Second Time Around with Bob Estes and Tommy Moore of Buckingham.
