Ceremony Held

The marriage of Miss Heidi Alfreda Blanton, of Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderson Blanton IV, of the John Randolph Community, to Mr. Daniel Joseph Pohl, also of Richmond, son of Mrs. James Hughes, of Blackstone, , and Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Pohl, of Rice, took place November 24, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmville, the first wedding in the new sanctuary.
Pastor Robert Sorenson of St. John's and the Reverend Doctor Matthew Bean, of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Richmond, officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Kuester, of Midlothian, and Mrs. Maggie Dunevant Blanton, of the John Randolph Community, and the late Mr. Henry Anderson Blanton III.
The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Myers, of Newport, PA, and the late Mr. William Myers and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pohl, of Oxford, NJ.
The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a Christina Collection gown of champagne silk satin overlaid with silver illusion embroidered with Alencon lace and hand appliqued sequins. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, ivory roses, and dusty miller wrapped in lace from her mother's wedding gown and fashioned by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Anderson Blanton V of Midlothian.
Mrs. George Rudolph Miller, sister of the bride, of Hoboken, NJ, was matron of honor. Miss Hannah Blanton King, niece of the bride, of the John Randolph Community, was junior bridesmaid. Miss Madelyne Marie Blanton, Miss Olivia Allen Pohl, Masters Henry Anderson Blanton VI and Robert Howard King, Jr. nieces and nephews of the bride and groom also attended the bridal couple.
Timothy James Pohl, of Richmond, was his brother's best man. Clem O'Shea Venable IV, of Charlotte, NC, and Thomas Anthony Miller Jr., of Richmond, college roommates of the groom, were groomsmen. Stuart Scott Hutton, cousin of the bride, of Richmond, was usher.
Scripture lessons were read by Mrs. Timothy James Pohl, sister-in-law of the groom, and Ms. Helene Blanton King, sister of the bride. Mrs. Rebecca Bound, organist of St. John's, provided the music. Henry Anderson Blanton V, brother of the bride, was Master of Ceremonies.
The bride and groom graduated from Prince Edward County High School; the groom attended Hampden-Sydney College and the bride is currently a full-time student at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. They reside in Richmond.
