BCHS Track Wins Quad Meet

The Buckingham County High School boys track team won a quad meet with Central of Lunenburg, Cumberland and Nottoway on Wednesday afternoon in Buckingham.

The Knights tallied 102 points to win going away over Central 55, Cumberland 39 and Nottoway 33.

First place finishers for Buckingham were Terrell Ayers in the High Jump, Justin Ayers in the 110m High Hurdles, Devin Smith in the Shot Put and Discus, Dallas Powell in the 400m Dash and Matrice Foster in the 200m Dash.

The team of Foster, Stephan Chambers, Harold Standon and Kenneth Johnson won the 4×100 Relay, while the 4×400 Relay team of Powell, Tavin Manigo, Malik Woodson and Smith also took top honors.

Buckingham (14-1 James River District) is scheduled to take part in the Fluvanna Invitational on Friday, and will travel to Goochland next Wednesday to wrap up the regular-season.

The James River District Meet will be held in two parts. On May 13, the field events will take place at Nottoway High School, and on May 15, the track events will be held at Goochland High School.
