FEBRUARY 5 – Ruby Dunkum Falls, 92, of Farmville, died Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born April 7, 1920 in Buckingham County, the daughter of Robert Henry and Isia Frances Dunkum. She was the widow of Laythan M. Falls.
Mrs. Falls was a retired employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation and the oldest member of Concord Baptist Church in Buckingham County.
She is survived by two children, Wayne Falls and wife, Karen and Elaine Flowers and husband, Walter, all of Farmville; two granddaughters, Sharon Flowers Keefe and husband, Jon of Lynchburg and Jennifer Flowers Davis and husband, Dan of Rice; great-grandson, Zachery Davis of UVA Charlottesville; and a very special brother, Juan Dunkum of Chesterfield. She was predeceased by seven brothers, Floyd Dunkum, Walter Dunkum, Percy Dunkum, George Dunkum, LeRoy Dunkum, Earl Dunkum and James Dunkum, and three sisters, Ruth Beasley, Louise Martin and Minnie Spencer.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, February 5 at Concord Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
