Since 2007 the Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District has awarded a $1000 Conservation Education Scholarship to encourage students to pursue natural resource related careers. Beginning this year, the District will be awarding three scholarships of $1000 to full-time students majoring in, or showing a strong desire to major in a college course curriculum in the technical fields of natural resource conservation and/or environmental protection of natural resources.

Students who apply must be a resident of Amelia, Nottoway and Prince Edward Counties.The Piedmont SWCD scholarship award winner's application is also forwarded to compete for cash awards at the state level.
