January 24 – Happy Birthday wishes go out to Kathleen McCoy, of Appomattox, celebrating on Thursday, January 31.
T.J. (Tommy Jo) Waycaster, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of Barry and Linda Miles in Cumberland on Wednesday, January 23.
Welcome home Linda Miles, of Cumberland, who spent time as a patient at Central Southside Community Hospital. She is said to be doing okay as of this writing.
Larry and Barbara Barone, of Cumberland, visited in the home of Pete and Annie May Miles in Dillwyn Tuesday, January 22.
Kevin and Rene Marion and their daughter, Cheyenne, all of Cumberland, and T.J. (Tommy Jo) Waycaster all visited in the home of Pete and Annie May Miles in Dillwyn on Sunday afternoon, January 20.
Happy Anniversary wishes are sent out this week to Larry and Barbara Barone of Cumberland. The couple will celebrate their wedding anniversary on Monday, January 28.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut-in.
Barry Miles along with Jane Cooke of Brookneal, and Anita Ford, of Appomattox, all enjoyed an afternoon meal at a Farmville restaurant on Monday afternoon, January 21.

Spreading God's Gifts, Inc. is a local non-profit home-grown faith-based ministry organization that assists working individuals or families in need. It primarily serves Buckingham and surrounding counties.
The organization will host their first annual Sweetheart Banquet on Saturday evening, February 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Main Street Dillwyn. Dinner will include: Roast Beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, dessert and a beverage all for a donation. All are invited to enjoy dinner music throughout the evening by Denise Bryant and Lindsay Absher both of Buckingham. There also will be door prizes given away.
Funds resulting from this event will be used to help individuals and families in the hour of need.

Advance reservations are not required but recommended in order to determine the amount of food needed for the evening. Co-sponsors include Hampton Inn and Suites of Farmville, Pino's Italian Restaurant of Dillwyn, Special Touch Florist and Gifts of Sprouses Corner and Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville. Everyone is cordially invited to attend and bring a friend.
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will host their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, February 2 at 1 p.m. at Teresa's Place at Sprouses Corner in Dillwyn. Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, located off of U.S. 15 North of Dillwyn in Arvonia on State Route 672, will host a Gospel Sing on Sunday, February 3 at 1 p.m. Featured will be the Rev. Maynard Jones and the Jones Family from the Union Branch Baptist Church in Arvonia. Following this will be a message from God's Holy Word. A love offering will be received and lunch will follow in the church fellowship hall. Pastor Elsie Butler and the congregation would like to cordially invite everyone to attend.
