Editor,The Herald:

With my recent retirement I have had the time to think back over 30 years of work with the Soil Conservation Service (now NRCS) and the Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District. I enjoyed getting the chance to meet so many good people in Amelia, Nottoway and Prince Edward Counties and I am grateful for the lifetime friendships that resulted. It was an honor to work in the natural resource conservation field and the accomplishments we made together are a source of meaning in my life to this day.

I can't thank everyone in this community enough for the kindness shown to my family and me.
