Have you mailed your Prospect Postal Service survey back? If the answer is no, please do it today; time is running out as they are to be mailed by October 30. Then on Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. there will be a meeting at the Prospect Post Office when the Postal Service will be present to answer questions, be sure to come to this meeting, it is important.

Sunday, October 14, Stacy Bolt and Chace Davis traveled to Carter Mountain Orchard in Charlottesville. They enjoyed a picnic lunch at the orchard following apple picking and walked the trails at nearby Michie Tavern.

Brianna Smith spent Friday night with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith. On Saturday she went with her grandfather to assist him at the craft show being held in Amherst, where they sold Mother's Heart soaps and toiletries, which her grandfather makes.

On Tuesday Mrs. Rita Utzinger and Mrs. Pat Smith met for breakfast at Huddle House.

Mrs. Margaret Banko celebrated her birthday Oct. 2.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows visited with Mr. and Mrs. Andy Shotwell of Richmond on Monday.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey attended the Longwood /Garden Club, at the home of Pam Wilson at Buffalo. Peggy was very happy with a blue ribbon for her specimen of Mandevilla, and blue ribbon for her vertical arrangement of red carnation and ivy.

Mrs. Pat Foster visited Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Inks and grandchildren in Fayetteville, NC, on Thursday through Saturday. Pat enjoyed her visit very much as she got to keep the grandchildren while their parents had a few days off. Tami is Pat's daughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noblin attended a surprise birthday party for her sister in-law, Frances Arrington hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Arrington in their home in Amelia.

Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher along with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mottley traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday. They report the leaves were beautiful.

“Special Blessings” members Mrs. Shirley Mottley, Mrs. Shirley Fulcher, Mrs. Nancy Mottley, Mrs. Linda Franklin and Mrs. Judy Mottley, of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church at Prospect, met on Monday to continue the making of special items for the sick and shut-ins.

Mrs. Flora Bolt and Mrs. Jeni Bolt and son Joshua attended a Baby Shower in Mechanicsville on Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Shannon Robinson. Mrs. Jeni Bolt was the honoree, receiving many lovely gifts.

Mrs. Flora Bolt visited Mrs. Edna Woodson at Trinity Missions Oct. 16. Also, visiting Mrs. Woodson was her husband William Woodson.

Mrs. Frances Southall and granddaughter Taylor Southall met Mrs. Flora Bolt at the Golden Palace on Oct. 18 for lunch. After lunch Mrs. Bolt visited ladies at Brookview; Mrs. Page Johnson, Mrs. Margaret Banko, Mrs. Dot Shumaker and Mrs. Ruth Southall.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton traveled to Amherst County High School on Saturday where they attended the Apple Festival.

Neighbors, family and friends are praying for a speedy recovery for those that are sick at this time; Gail George, Wanda Whitus and Dennis Leonard of Jetersville.

Saturday, Oct. 27, Glenn Memorial Baptist Church at Prospect will be making stew and apple butter. Starting at 3 p.m. games will start for the children and at 4 p.m. you may get a free bowl of stew and dessert. When you get ready to go home you can get a sample of apple butter to take home. Come out and enjoy stew and apple butter.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Kemper Beasley III will fill the pulpit on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.

The Prospect Historical Society has tee shirts, sweatshirts, matted pictures, note cards, and tote bags for sale; just get in touch with a member. These will make excellent birthday and or Christmas presents.
