DILLWYN, Sept. 4 – J. C. (Moto) Wharam, 68, of Dillwyn passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at his home. He was born May 25, 1944 in Arvonia.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Connatser Wharam; children, Monica Banton (Ray), Jason Wharam (Donna) and Justin Wharam (Christy); six grandchildren, Hunter, Brookelyn and Sierra Wharam, Cody Banton, Leanna Davis Bailey and Stephanie Davis; great-grandson, Brice Bailey; two brothers, Sammy Wharam and Bobby Allen; and two sisters, Ethel Almond and Debbie Snoddy. He is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Cassie Wharam, adoptive parents, John and Bessie Allen, brothers, Glover, Kenneth (Little Bo), Curtis (Big Bo) and Suddith Wharam, and sisters, Charlotte Allen, Bertha Toney and Ruby Parker.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Dillwyn, with interment in Jones Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Cumberland.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Department or Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund.
