DRAKES BRANCH, August 21 – Jacqueline Mae Glass (nee Dotson) passed away quietly on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at her home in Drakes Branch, after a long illness. She was born in Norton in 1924.

Before retiring to Drakes Branch in 1988, she lived for 25 years in Arlington, and worked for Cafritz Property Management Company. She still kept in touch with many of her friends from the D.C. area.

She is survived by five children, William Lawrence Danby of Cumberland, Nancy Danby Barker of Boca Raton, FL, Virginia Miller of Oliver Springs, TN, Jimmy Short, and Letha Rose Lawson of Coburn, and numerous grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Marion Skidmore Glass. We are sure she and Myrtle are in heaven having a party with Skid, her mom and dad and Uncle Pert!

The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to her friends who looked in on her frequently and, out of the goodness of their hearts, helped maintain her spirits and added much to her life in these last years. To mention a few, Danny Walton and his sister, Lisa, Darlene Cisco, Ellen and Jim Pettus, Sue, Butch Hamlette, Naisha and Denise Pridgen, both Brendas, Lou Toombs, Randy Claybrook and family, Lisa Traynham, Pam, Sabrina and Annie Mae Masters, Amanda Spencer and so many more of you.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date, notice of which will be given in the newspaper.
