ALABAMA, July 19 – Doris Dell Kernodle Hudnall, 83, of Alexander City, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on July 19, 1928 in Hampden-Sydney to Joseph Morton Kernodle and Bessie Irene Duncan Kernodle. She was a member of Presbyterian Church in America.
Mrs. Hudnall attended two years of college in Farmville and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a great cook, loved to read, enjoyed playing golf, and loved cats. Mrs. Hudnall was a sweet, beautiful woman who loved people and had excellent southern class. She loved spending time with her family and was a wonderful mother.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharyn Howard (E. Kenneth Jr.) of Alexander City; daughter, Donna Birkhead of Louisville, KY; sisters, Esther Kernodle of Farmville, Lucille Dunkley of Suffolk, and Iva Hall (Tom) of Buckingham; brother, Warren Kernodle (Linnie) of Hampden-Sydney; sister-in-law, Elaine Kernodle of South Bend, IN; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harold Kernodle and Carl Kernodle.
A graveside service was held Thursday, July 19, at the Fairview Cemetery Addition in Eufaula, Alabama with Dr. Jason Rodgers officiating.
