June 28 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Mary Dunkum, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Sunday, July 1, Fern Dunnavant and Mamie Cheseldine, both of Dillwyn, celebrating on Monday, July 2; and Agnes Ogle, celebrating on Wednesday, July 4.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, and Tina and Holly Cook, of Midlothian, all enjoyed an evening meal at a Richmond Restaurant Saturday, June 23.
Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.
A large crowd packed the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department on Sunday afternoon, June 24 in honor of Pete Mile's 80th birthday Wednesday, June 20. Everyone enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship. The Miles family would like to thank the many friends, neighbors, family members and their home church, Hatcher Baptist Church, and the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department for making this a great event and a huge success.
The Jane Cooke Family of Brookneal and Tina and Holly Cook of Midlothian and Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland all enjoyed an afternoon and evening at Maidens Landing in Goochland as the Batteau Festival wrapped up. Everyone had a great time.
Thanks to Glenn Memorial Baptist Church in Prospect for keeping Southern Gospel music alive on Friday night, June 22, Southern Gospel Music recording stars Karen Peck and New River packed the church auditorium out with an hour and 25 minutes of great Southern Gospel Music. Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland were among those who attended and what an evening.
Hint: If you plant two or three dill seeds in each squash hill then you won't have any squash bugs.
