Ruby May Johnson Ferguson, 94

ROCKY MOUNT, June 5 – Ruby May Johnson Ferguson, 94, of Rocky Mount, passed away quietly on the evening of Friday, June 1, 2012. She was born in the Brushy Hill area of Redwood on September 27, 1917. She was a member of the Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church for over 47 years.

Surviving family members are a brother, G. Raymond Johnson of Union Hall; son, Dr. Lynn M. Ferguson of Farmville, and a son and daughter-in-law, Barry Lee and Helene Ferguson of Boones Mill; four grandchildren, Lucie Scott Andrade of Maricopa, AZ, and Lynn Martel Ferguson of Midlothian and their mother, Dr. Lucie Lancaster Ferguson of Richmond, Jennifer Lynn Ferguson and Jacob Lynn Ferguson of Boones Mill and Burnt Chimney, and their mother, Deborah Hunt Westfall of Burnt Chimney; three sisters-in-law, Carrie Powell, Garnett Robertson, and Frances Plybon and husband, Silas; many nephews, nieces, and cousins; and special friend, Thelma Furrow. She was preceded in death by her parents, George H. and Annie Johnson, her husband of 53 years, Abie Lee Ferguson, and a brother, Marvin E. Johnson of Greenwood, SC.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 5 at Flora Funeral Chapel, Rocky Mount, with the Elder Mark Terry officiating. Interment followed in Franklin Memorial Park.
