April 12 – “All progress occurs because people dare to be different.”

This Saturday, April 14, the Prospect Fire Department Auxiliary will have their annual spaghetti supper from 5-7 p.m. at the firehouse. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, bread, tea, lemonade and dessert. The cost is just a donation. Everyone is invited!

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Fulcher and daughter Ms. Katie Toney and her children, and Greg Fulcher were dinner guests of their parents John and Shirley Fulcher on Easter Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Robin Dixson and Justin Chilton enjoyed Easter lunch with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kelsey.

After attending the Sunrise Service at Calvary Chapel Farmville and the breakfast which followed, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Orange to have Easter dinner at the home of Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keaveny. Also attending the dinner were Mrs. Smith's brother and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Keaveny and Ryan, Kendra, Josh and Simone.

Easter evening Brianna, Charles, and Christina Smith of Keysville and their cousin Jeffrey Sharpe of Buckingham were the overnight guests of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith. On Monday, Mr. Smith took the grandchildren to see their great-grandparents. They first visited Mr. Smith's mother, Mrs. Dolores Smith, in Stafford and then stopped in to visit Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keaveny in Orange.

On April 10, Mrs. Nancy Currie hosted a retirement luncheon in honor of Mrs. Pat Smith at Charley's Waterfront Cafe. Mrs. Smith was employed as a YMCA water aerobics instructor for nearly ten years. Guests attending were Ms. Jennifer Halladay. Ms. Maggie Stanley, Ms. Rosy Amos, Mrs. Caryn Kayton, and Mrs. Annice Schuler. Mrs. Smith appreciated her cards and gifts and socializing with all of the guests.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey attended the 50th birthday party for Deana Bennett at the Moose Center recently. It was good seeing other retirees, Evelyn Wilkinson, Lois Southall and Janice Harris from Prince Edward Social Services.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Shumaker, Debra Sue and Darrell has Easter dinner with Peggy Kelsey. She had calls from son Phil of California and daughter Karen from New Hampshire.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Floyd entertained their children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter on Easter Sunday on their home.

Mr. and Mrs. William Amos were guests of Mrs. Amos' daughter, son in-law and grandson for a cookout at their Pamplin home on Sunday.

CMSgt. Jeff Newcomb has just returned from deployment to an undisclosed area of Southwest Asia. CMSgt. Jeff Newcomb is in the US Air Force reserves.

Jason Covington visited his grandfather William Amos and Mrs. Amos on Sunday.

Family, friends and neighbors wish a speedy recovery for those who are sick at this time. Robby Franklin had knee replace-ment surgery on Monday.

Friends and neighbors are extending their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Michael Goin.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simp-son Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
