Mary Clements Noblin, 85

MARCH 13 – Mary Clements Noblin, 85, widow of Carey Randolph Noblin, her husband of 49 years, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Richmond. Born August 7, 1926 in Prince Edward County, she was the daughter of the late George Cleveland Clements and Vernelle Price Clements and was predeceased by a son, George Randolph (Randy) Noblin.

A graduate of Farmville High School, she attended Farmville State Teachers College. She worked in the business office of Baldwin's Department Store for many years and retired from the Farmville Herald as an Administrative Assistant in 1997 after 26 years of employment.

Mrs. Noblin was an active member of the Judith Randolph/Longwood Chapter for United Daughters of the American Revolution, President and Member of the Serendipity Club, and a member of the Carroll-Rosser Circle of the United Methodist Church in Farmville. Her church was very important to her as she prepared food for those in need and enjoyed exercising with the Methodizers. She loved to travel and be with her family. Her hobbies were cooking, needlepoint, gardening and sports. She consistently cheered on the Washington Redskins, Atlanta Braves, and Hampden-Sydney sports teams.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Noblin Fitzgerald (Doug) and Donna Noblin Noble (Chuck) of Richmond; six granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lula Clements Brisentine (Harold) of San Lorenzo, California and Clara Clements of Farmville.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Woodland in Farmville, Sunrise at Bon Air in Richmond, and Hospice Community Care of Richmond, also the support to her from Alice, James, Esther and Yvonne.

A private family interment will take place at Westview Cemetery followed by a memorial service held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15 at the Farmville United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Farmville Volunteer Rescue Squad, Farmville United Methodist Church or Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
