February 16 – “In the eyes of a child you will see the world as it should be.”
Nothing to do this weekend, well here are two suggestions: Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. you can go see the Waterworks new production Almost Maine, on Saturday before you go to see the play go by the Prospect Fire House for their Pancake Supper from 5-7 p.m. The menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, apples, coffee, tea and lemonade. The cost is a donation. The dinner is being put on by the Prospect Fire Department Auxiliary.
On Feb. 8 Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows traveled to Richmond to visit their daughter and her family, Julie and Andy Shotwell, Josh, Zack and Kate. They were able to get in some shopping before returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton traveled to Brian's Steak House in South Hill to help her aunt, Rachel Abernathy Paulson Pearson, celebrate her 91st birthday. Also joining in the celebration were her nieces Beck Paulson Goin, of Hixburg, Jean Penick Derrenbacker, of Richmond, and sister in-law Gwen Cook Paulson, of Chester.
Mrs. Flora Bolt was dinner guest Feb. 8 of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bolt and Stacy. The occasion was the celebration of Doug Bolt's birthday. Chace Davis was also a guest.
Mrs. Flora Bolt helped celebrate two more family members celebrate birthdays on Feb. 12 at the LaParoti Grill. Steve Bolt and daughter Ashley Bolt Paquette birthdays were Feb. 10. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Steve) Bolt, Mrs. Ashley Paquette, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Mottley, Brandon Bolt and friend Jasmine, Haley Murdock and Payden Baldwin.
Family, friends and neighbors wish a speedy recovery for those who are sick at this time; Joshua Whirley, Mrs. Elsie Wilson, Mrs. Linda W. Campbell, Mrs. Dolly Worthy, Mrs. Elizabeth Mason, Cecelia Culler and Mrs. Page Johnson.
Friends and neighbors are expressing their sincere sympathy to the family of Mrs. Mattie Marie White. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.
The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Richard Lash will be at Davis Memorial this Sunday.
Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
