CUMBERLAND – The County's Director of Community and Economic Development, Greg Baka, is continuing the effort to reach out and make new connections within Cumberland's business community.
The “Introductions To New Business Owners/Managers and Citizens” initiative is moving forward with a business networking reception scheduled for January.
“We are trying to get people to continue to think about how they can call Cumberland businesses first,” offered Baka last month. “We want our citizens to know and our existing business owners to know that they have great business owners right here that they may not be calling all the time.”
Cumberland, he announced to the County's Board of Supervisors in December, will be hosting the reception on Tuesday, January 24 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
“The objective of this event is for business owners and managers to meet and greet each other and establish or re-establish personal connections and potential business networking opportunities.
“The greater goal here is to take a first step to help promote our local businesses,” he offered.
The reception will be held at Cumberland Building Supply on Route 60, he said.
“We appreciate them opening their doors to allow businesses to meet and greet and re-establish some connections,” said Baka about Cumberland Building Supply agreeing to host the County's first event. “That will be our first step to get businesses talking to each other.”
