Plane Crashes At Airport, No Injuries Reported

CUMBERLAND – On Thursday, December 15, Virginia State Police were called to investigate an aircraft crash at the Farmville Regional Airport in Cumberland County, according to information provided by the state police.
“Trooper H.L. Eames was notified at 7:40 p.m. and responded to the scene. One person, a Keysville man, was on board the plane, but he was not injured,” states the information.
“A CIRRUS XR22 aircraft was attempting to land at the airport when the plane ran off the runway and hit a barbed wire fence before finally stopping in a grassy area,” concludes the information.
The FAA was notified.
