The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom at the Cumberland Courthouse in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Special Ordinance – Proposed Amendment to the Code of Cumberland County, Virginia: “An Ordinance Amending Certain Provisions of Chapter 66 of the Cumberland County Code” The proposed amendment would provide for a reduced connection fee for residential use of vacant land located in the mandatory connection areas, under certain conditions. The provision would not be codified in the County Code and would sunset two (2) years from the date of adoption.

Copies of the complete text of the above proposed special ordinance, resolution and associated documents are available for public review at the County Administrator's office in the Cumberland County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend the hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views orally or in writing.
