LYNCHBURG, July 5 – Elizabeth Uldean Tyree Wells, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Calvin Earl Wells.

Born August 19, 1930, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lloyd and Laura Williams Tyree. She was the former owner and operator, along with her husband, of Chestnut Hill Bakery. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn W. Dolan and husband, David Hugh of Appomattox; son, Richard “Ricky” Michael Wells and wife, Beverly of Forest; brother, Allan Tyree and wife, Pat of Danville and sister, Frances Madison of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Chad Dalton, Melvin Dolan, Amanda Dolan, Kevin Wells and Derrick Wells; sister-in-law, Mary Tyree; and special friends, Eleanor and Sherman Wilson, Helen Bunch and Ruth Rhodes. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Bobby” Earl Wells; a grandson, Michael Hugh Dolan and brother, Robert Milton Tyree.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 7, at 11 a.m. in Virginia Memorial Park with the Rev. David Sexton officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel from 7-8 p.m.
